What you should know before the shoot
Children don't need to stand still and smile at a family photo shoot. The most beautiful photos often happen when they're allowed to run, play, cuddle or just be silly for a moment. That's exactly why we plan family photos differently from classic portraits.
Mallorca helps: beach, water, sand and light give children something to do. Our job is to translate that energy into loving, authentic images.
The right time
Morning or early evening is usually best for children. It's less hot, the light is softer and the mood stays more relaxed. We almost always avoid harsh midday sun for family photos.
If your child has a fixed sleep routine, we plan around it. A well-rested child is more important than the theoretically perfect time of day.
What to bring
Water, small snacks, a towel and possibly a spare shirt are worth their weight in gold. A favourite toy can help, but shouldn't be too dominant.
Please avoid big reward promises immediately before the shoot. That often creates pressure. Better approach: we're going to the beach together and turning it into a lovely shared hour.
How we photograph with children
We give simple prompts instead of stiff poses: running, spinning, hugging, tickling, lifting, looking for shells. This creates images that genuinely look like your family.
